Ch. Gharu Ram, Chairman, All J&K Kissan Congress and former Minister held a Press Conference in the Press Club, Jammu today in the presence of Shri Bharat Priya secretary AICC Kissan Congress. In the start Ch. Gharu Ram lashed out at the present state Administration for over looking the following burning issues of the state kissan and demanded for immediate redressal without delay.
He told that our Kissan have suffered great loss of wheat crops burnt recently in fire but no compensation has been paid. He demanded that orders needs to be issued for processing their losses and adequate compensation be paid immediately as thousand acres of standing crops have been burnt.
He further told that Kissan Bhima Yojna Sanctioned by the Govt. of India is on papers and not implemented in the state which needs immediate orders to give benefits to our farmers who have suffered crop losses. He pointed out that benefit of Kissan Credit cards has been given to our farmers who have taken loan. The loan sanctioning authorities are deducting the loan amount installments arbitrarily without any intimation to them.
He told that the Basmati Growing Farmers of R.S Pura have been put to a great loss due to the impetr, of Paddy form adjoining states of Punjab, Haryana and U.P . The present rate of Basmati Paddy in Jammu district is Rs. 3400 per Quintal which is lower than their input cost of use of insecticide & Fertilizer. They are at the verge of suicide for not getting proper rates. He Stressed that the import of Paddy be stopped and adequate input cost be given to farmers by the Govt.
Ch. Garu Ram was at pains that the canals & its distributaries have not been properly upto tail and which is life line of demanded for an inquiry for misusing the govt irrigation for sowing and dug and cleaned allegation has been received by him from the growing Basmati paddy. He No employment community of the Jammu province money for which it was to the spent.
