Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) defeated Cluster University of Jammu (CUJ) 4-3 via tie-breaker in Football event of the Chancellor’s Trophy, organised by the University of Jammu (JU) on its campus grounds, here.
Shahid, Hunner, Aqib, Shafqat were the scores from winners CUS while Vishal, Manveer and Kartik were the scorer from CUJ.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri trounced Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) by two goals to nil. The BGSBSU took the first lead with Usman netting the ball in the 13th minute. The lead was improved by Malik in the 55th minute.
International football player from Jammu, Arun Malhotra was special guest in today’s match, who interacted with the teams and the officials.
Today’s matches officiated by the technical penal including Suresh Gupta, Rahul Sharma, Dil Bahadur, Vijay Kumar, Dheeraj Menia and Gagan Kumar.
Among others present were Ramesh Magotra, Romesh Sharma, Ravish Vaid, Harinder Pal Singh, Jai Bharat and Sanjay Verma.
CUJ beat CUS 7-0 in Hockey
Cluster University of Jammu (CUJ) today blanked Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) 7-0 in the men’s hockey tournament at K K Hakhu Stadium, here.
Amit Singh scored four goals in the 5th, 37th, 44th and 57th minutes while other three goals came through Saval Ahmad (10th), Hirday Preet Singh (41st) and Rikshit Sharma (60th).
Meanwhile, in women’s section, JU defeated Cluster University Srinagar 3-1.
Minakshi Khajuria made hat trick striking in the 5th, 30th and 58th minutes of the match. The only goal from Cluster University came through Sabreena in the 26th minute.
