Sh. Neeraj Gupta Zonal President JKNPP today along with supporters and party workers held a massive protest at Transport Yard Narwal Jammu against the insufficient water supply in the various areas of Jammu. Sh Neeraj Gupta said that earlier also demand had been raised by him for uplifting of water from Chenab so that the Kandi Belt of Jammu may get sufficient water supply during summers, but it is unfortunate that the administration is in deep sleep. Nobody is there to hear the grievances of the common man. When the summer is at peak there are some areas where the water is supplied after once in a weak or on alternate date he further added. Instead of repairing the breakage of pipes which results in wastage of water, the administration affect the water supply. He said that every year in summer season the people are facing this problem and it is necessary to get a permanent solution of this problem. Chenab water supply can be the only solution to this problem. He said the old water plants (Sitli) working in the Jammu city are not capable of fulfilling the demands of the people of Jammu. During rainy days due to flood in the River Tawi water gets contaminated and people get the contaminated water. He said if the project of lifting Chenab water to Kandi Belt of Jammu will be initiated it will be of great importance for the Jammu people and they will get the water supply regular in days of summer. He said that this project was already in approved in files but the previous Govt. failed to kick start the work. He said that it is our humble demand to the Hon’ble Governor of the state that for the sake of Jammu People he must take some effective measures so that long pending work of this project might get started at the earliest. During the protest he was accompanied by Amar Chand, Ramesh Kumar, Bablu Ram, Surat Lal, Ashwani Kumar, Ravinder Singh etc
