JAMMU, Mar 27:
All Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association (AJKCA) in support with the J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC) is involving a record number of young students in a training programme spread over all the 10 district of Kashmir Province.
To begin with, the Association has started such activities of demonstration and basic training in three districts of Kulgam, Pulwama and Anantnag involving around 25 students.
Earlier, at Kulgam, the event was declared open by the Deputy Commissioner, Dr Shameemm Ahmed Wani and guest of honour, Deputy CEO, Mohd. Ayoub Shah.
Similarly, at Pulwama, Principal Degree College Pulwama, Professor Mushtaq Ali was the chief guest, who interacted with the participants. In Anantnag, Principal Boys Degree College Anantnag, Professor Bashir Ahmad was chief guest while incharge manager Sports Stadium, Anantnag, Mohd. Shafi was guest of honour.
The entire activity is being held under the guidance of president of AJKCA, Atul Kumar Gupta and managed by Ashiq Ahmad Kolu in support with members from Kashmir Division of the Association.
As per a handout issued here today, the Association expects about 10000 young boys and girls taking part in the first of kind activity.
The entire event shall have a total cash prizes worth Rs.1,50,000 to be given away to those 240 medal winners.
