On the occasion of culmination of Children’s week and Universal Children’s day a symposium on “Violence against children no more tolerated” was organized today at Govt. High School Purani Poonch.
The programme was organized by National Development Foundation in collaboration with Mission Directorate ICPS J&K Govt with the funding support from the European Union. Around 13 participants from Nanak Academy Purani Poonch, Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Sheesh Mahal Poonch, High School Purani Poonch, High School Kuniyan, High School Khari Karmara, High School Mangnar, Mr. Makhan Lal Sharma Principal DIET Poonch was the chief guest. Dr. Altaf Hussain Khan Asstt. Prof. Govt Degree College Poonch and Ms. Pooja Sharma Asstt. Prof. Govt Degree College Poonch were the judges. Ms. Nazia Qureshi conducted the stage. Others present on the occasion include Mr. Anwer Hussain Shah Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Poonch, Mr. Kirpal Singh Member Child Welfare Committee Poonch, Mr. Amit Kumar from NDF, Headmaster High School Purani Poonch, teachers and others.
Around 120 children witnessed the symposium.
Kaneez Fiza from Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School Sheesh Mahal Poonch bagged first prize whereas second prize was bagged by Asma Choudhary from High School Mangnar.
Evenjyot Kour from Nanak Academy Purani Poonch bagged third prize. Consolation prizes were shared by Amanpreet Kour from Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School Sheesh Mahal Poonch and Anamika Bali from Nanak Academy Purani Poonch. A pledge on child protection was also taken and signed by the participants.
