Today Rinku Gill (President of Civic Safaikaramchari Union) held a press conference and put forth his following demand before the commissioner of JMC. Mr. Rinku Gill stated that in almost 15 wards, which were outsourced by the JMC, than 500 safaikaramchari’s are working for the past two years when these wards were outsourced, an agreement was made between the contractors and JMC, according to which the contractors had to provide sweeping related tools to the SKC’s which the contractors have not provided any time. He further stated that when agreement was made the contractors also agreed for giving provident funds to the SKC’s. The SKC’s were supposed to take their accumulated money under the provident funds after every six months but from the past two years the SKC’s haven’t got even a single rupee from their provident funds, he added.
He further requested the Commissioner to fill the vacancies created by the department as soon as possible otherwise the union will have no option rather than taking a strong action.
