DDC Chairman Kathua, Col. Mahan Singh (Retd.) visited Dambra West and Pallan Panchayats of Basohli and Billawar Sub-districts respectively to inspect the ongoing work of JJM projects in these Panchayats and to resolve the issues pertaining at these sites.
In Dambra West Panchayat there was a land issue for construction of OHT which was amicably resolved with the intervention of DDC Chairman in the presence of villagers, AEE (PHE) Billawar, Tehsildar Mahanpur who were also present on the site.
At Pallan Panchayat there is a long-standing issue of repair and protection of the damaged pump room & desilting of the dug well.
The DDC Chairperson inspected the aforesaid site in presence of Surinder Sambyal, AEE Jal Shakti Billawar, Surinder Kumar, Tehsildar Billawar & residents of Villages Pallan, Parnala and Dharalta. He directed the officials on spot to prepare the estimate for protection work and desilting of the affected lift station. He further directed the AEE (PHE) Billawar to expedite the work of construction of upcoming filtration plan , pump room and sump tank in the near vicinity of the existing lift station.
Col Mahan appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha for the emergent release of funds amounting to Rs 20 lakh for the repair of more than 800 hand pumps in district Kathua which are lifeline for the supply of drinking water to the public and also sent a letter to the Raj Bhawan authorities regarding this issue.
Later, the DDC Chairman interacted with residents of Pallan Village and discussed various issues confronting the public.
