Reiterating his resolve to continue the fight for Jammu region, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh asserted that the Dogras have been reposing faith in the Panthers Party after they were painfully betrayed by BJP. “People of Jammu having pinned high hopes with the Saffron party voted heavily in its favour but unfortunately the tenure of BJP’s rule turned into a damp squib. Panthers Party showcased its remarkable resilience and not only vociferously highlighted the Jammu related issues but also exposed BJP for its failure to fulfill the aspirations of the people and its cowardly surrenders before the Kashmir centric leadership for the crumbs of power. Now, the people having tried both the Congress and the BJP have closely observed the working and role of the Panthers Party which has relentlessly protested more than 400 times in Jammu and New Delhi on all Jammu oriented issues. NC and PDP have Kashmiri genes but we have originated from Duggar soil. Blood is thicker than water, so let’s all unite for restoration of Dogra pride and honour”, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP appealed to the people. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
Adjuring the likeminded leaders, organizations/sangathans to come together with open heart, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that a ‘collective fight’ for Jammu’s cause was the need of the hour. “We all have been betrayed. We all want to fight anti-Jammu forces, we all are pursuing a common goal, then why should we not unite and jointly fight for Jammu’s cause? Panthers Party is the only regional party from Jammu Pradesh which has been recognized by the Election Commission of India (ECI). It has a symbol and ideology, It has fire power and capacity to lead from the front. It can confront the Kashmir centric and national leaders who have been looking at Jammu with a jaundiced eye. So let’s come on one platform to liberate Jammu province from further subjugation and intensify our crusade against the discrimination doled out to the region by Kashmir centric leaders”, urged Harsh. He said that 3½ years BJP’s rule was a sordid tale of failures, betrayals and surrenders with none of its 25 elected representatives raking up the promised issues of Jammu region. Now it’s time for us to prove our worth. We all together can take out our region from political mess and assuage the pain of our people by providing them rights and justice viz-a-viz delimitation of Assembly constituencies, declaration of holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth day and on Accession day, 5 Marla plots for border dwellers in safer zones, adequate compensation to Jammu farmers, State subject rights to WPRs, adequate one time settlement package to DPs of PoJK, State subjects and property rights to children of daughters of J&K married outside state, equitable share to Jammu region in employment and allocation of funds, 5% vertical reservation for ex-servicemen and martyrs families, abolition of Custodian Deptt and ownership rights to the occupants, 33% reservation to Women in J&K Legislative Assembly, Dogri satellite channel for Jammu, Dogra certificate for Jammu youth etc., Harsh asserted.
Elucidating the traumatic subjugation being experienced by the people of Jammu region in development sphere, Mr. Singh narrated the tragic saga of abortion of Artificial Tawi Lake project besides deterioration of Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex which had turned into ruins. He said that persistent neglect and deprivation of the region amid a threat to its demography with unlawful settlement of Rohingyas around the ‘city of temples’ had left the Dogras to face severe identity crisis. “Let’s all gear up to avenge all the betrayals of the BJP which had colluded with PDP to rehabilitate the surrendered militants and stone-pelters in Kashmir, provided jobs and compensation to NOKs of deceased anti-national elements, appease secessionist forces in the valley and showed aversion towards the nationalists and the patriots”, Harsh further urged upon the likeminded political activists. Recalling the discrimination doled to Jammu youth in the process of selections by the PSC/SSB, he said that there had been a huge regional bias in the recruitments made by them for the last four years which revealed a petty low share of Jammu region plummeting to mere 3-5 percent as compared to Kashmir valley. The contractual lecturers comprising of female candidates claiming regularization of their services were tormented and left in lurch under the open skies for the last two years. Likewise, the NHM employees had been protesting for a suitable job policy but the dispensation had paid no heed to the miseries of the educated youth. Same was the fate of ReT teachers, Daily wagers of all departments, MGNREGA employees, SPOs, Home Guards, Anganwari and ASHA workers Kargil Porters, etc. who were yelling for justice with dignity and honour, anguished Harsh said.
Mr. Parshotam Parihar State Secretary Panthers Trade Union was also present in the press conference.
