SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 20: The Commissioner Secretary Forests, Environment and Ecology, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, today held a detailed review meeting of Territorial Forest Divisions of Kashmir Region.
Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir Syed Farooq Ahmad Gillani, IFS made a power point presentation about the progress achieved under various sectors like CAMPA, CAPEX, SFDA etc.
The Divisional Forest Officers of Kashmir Region informed the Commissioner about the achievements in their respective Divisions, Protection of Forests and other Developmental Activities. The Commissioner Secretary impressed upon the officers to ensure that eviction of encroachment on Forest land is given top priority and progress reported to higher offices on fortnightly basis. Besides the demarcation and proper fencing of areas vulnerable to encroachment be attended immediately, he added. The DFOs were directed to make all the preparation for plantation season so that the targets fixed under plantation are met.
The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K Suresh Chugh, asked the DFOs to formulate project proposal for roadside and institutional plantation under different schemes.
The meeting was attended, among others, by Sarvesh Rai, Addl. Pr. Chief Conservator of Forests, CAMPA, Vasu Yadav, Chief Conservator for Forests, Central and all Divisional Forest Officers of Kashmir Region.
