Community Coach Training Programme organized at Kathua

JAMMU, MAY 13:
With the sole motive to upgrade the sports skill of the Community Coaches of District Kathua to Conduct Sports & Games Competitions at District/State levels for the disabled under Khelo India Scheme of Sports & Games for Persons with Disabilities launched by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India in partnership with Special Olympics Bharat.
Two days Training Program inaugurated by Dr Aseem Sharma, Head of Special Smile State Programme and Mr Vishav Bandu Sharma, Social Welfare Officer, Kathua was the Guest of Honor.
While inaugurating two days coach training program, the Chief Guest termed this Special Training Program to conduct Games & Sports for the Disabled as turning point for the Special Athletes i.e. Persons with Disabilities of the District as they have great hidden potential which needs to be explored through medium of sports and the special athletes possess unique caliber which can be channelized to bestow them the graceful and dignified life and they can bring laurels in the field of sports.
I wish the Training Program will culminate with the marvelous results with practical approach in the ground for the benefit of Special Athletes (Persons with Disabilities) in the fields BOCCE, Football, Athletics. It is my moral duty to strengthen this unique movement in the District.
In his address Guest of Honor Social Welfare Officer said that it is great opportunity for the guardian & parents of the disabled to avail up to utmost level & every citizen must be part of this movement.
State President SOB- J&K presented welcome/ keynote/aims of organizing CCTP. Field activities/practical’s were conducted by Area Director Mr Raj Kumar Sharma, Sports Director S.Prithipal Singh, Jatin Chanjotra, Programme Manager SOB – J&K managed and conducted the training programme. Ms Kamaljit Kour Sports Teacher /Master Trainer assisted the event. The resource Persons during the program are Mr. Raj Kumar Sharma, Ms Kamaljit Kaur, Mr Sahil Badyal, Vishal. About 54 Community coaches attended the training programme and about 117 youth got acquainted with the SOB movement.
