He said that Congress party has emerged a vibrant force in all regions of the state and there is positive change in the mindset and the mood of the people because of the policies and programmes of the Congress party. He said that his perception and understanding of the situation is that Congress would emerge as the largest party in the next assembly elections.
Mir expressed concern over the disturbing socio-political scenario obtaining out of misrule and mismanagement by previous PDP-BJP Coalition in the State. The former minister blamed the BJP for failing to create peaceful atmosphere, rather it created social and political uncertainty aiming to remain in power. Expressing hope, PCC Chief claimed that Congress Party will form next government in Jammu and Kashmir. Coming down heavily on BJP, he said, the rightwing party befooled the people with its false promises and they completely failed to fulfill the promises made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The first time rule under BJP proved to be worse of its kind where the common masses were suffering and ruling class enjoyed royal lifestyle.“They never cared for Jammu where from they got their votes. The people who voted them to power faced frequent power cuts, lack of drinking water supply, price rise of essential commodities, militant went up like in 90s, failed to deal with Pakistan on borders, border violated increased due to which many soldiers got martyred in absence of strong foreign policy,” he alleged.

CM speaking on the occasion said that BJP has brought Jammu and Kashmir at a stage with one region is stood against other. “It was Congress Government which always kept all three regions united as one unit. There was equal share in development and employment without any disparity,” he said, while praising the people friendly policy of the previous Congress Government. “If Congress party is voted to power again, a new phase of development will start in the J&K state as the party gives priority to the prosperity and development of the three regions of the State-Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh”, Chand asserted. Former DyCM said that Congress party leaders were successful in raking up important issues related to down trodden people especially Below Poverty Line (BPL) families and all these issues will be settled on priority basis after the formation of the next Government in the State.
Former Minister Mula Ram attacked BJP for misleading people on every count and said that BJP will never succeed to implement its communal and divisive agenda. He said that State BJP leaders always pleaded that they are the well wishers of Jammu region but after getting huge mandate in 2014 Assembly elections, they compromised the interests of Jammu for the lust of power, but the people of Jammu are now matured enough to teach this party a lesson. He exhorted the party workers to make people aware about the peace, prosperity and secular policies of the Congress, so that the communal forces, who are trying to create a wedge between communities, are given befitting reply in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
PCC vice president Raman Bhalla said that tremendous development had taken place during Congress-NC regime in the State which benefitted each and every section of society and these developments are visible even today. Since the BJP came to power all developments works have been put on hold. He said works of many important projects have been abandoned or delayed and the people are left to suffer.Urging party workers to reach out to the people for resolution of the issues confronting them, Bhalla described the Congress party as an instrument of service, duty bound to seek resolution of the issues confronting people.BJP failed to answer questions lurking in the minds of Jammu people over its total surrender during its coalition Government with PDP and bartering the interests of Jammu region for the sake of power,” Bhalla said. Holding previous PDP-BJP Govt responsible for the “uncertainty” and “anguish” among the people in the state, Bhalla said the coalition partners after securing votes from the people failed to come up to their expectations. The previous Government had made several promises to the people, which they were unable to fulfill and it was the main reason behind its failure. Now people are confused about their future and in these circumstances, Congress is the only party which can make things better here. When we talk of Jammu region, every big project was done by our party. This region was neglected by BJP and PDP and they were unable to do work for the people who gave power to them. But now people have realized that Congress can make their lives better and will come back with full majority. He said that Congress party is the only secular alternative acceptable to people in all the three regions of the State and urged cadres to strength it.
Th. Balwan Singh, EX-MLA Blamed the centre government for its wrong policies leading to worsening of the overall situation of the state said that it is a cause of great concern for all peace loving people of the state who wanted peace to prevail for the overall economic growth and progress like other parts of the country. But the coalition of the opportunist forces in the state (PDP & BJP) had widened the gap between the regions instead of bridging the same because of their inherent contradictions. He said that the government had worked with vested political interests and had failed to initiate any developmental activities and the much needed relief and rehabilitation measures for suffering sections of the society. He also blamed Modi Govt. for record number of ceasefire violation on the borders resulting into casualties of innocent civilians and making the life of all border residents miserable.
