Making an emotional pitch to voters to vote and support the Congress in the ongoing Parliament polls, JKPCC vice president and former Minister and Congress candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat Raman Bhalla said that his party was fighting against divisive and exploitive forces, which are hell bent to destroy love and harmony not only in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, but in entire nation. Bhalla today held series of election meetings at Buddhal, Kalakote, Sunderbani, Peeri, RS Pura, Suchetgarh and Gandhi Nagar Constituency.Prominent among those who accompanied Bhalla include AICC secretary Incharge J&K Dr Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Ex MlC Ravinder Sharma, Iqbal Malik, Adv. Masqood Choudhary, Ex. MLA Ashok Sharma, Saroanch, Panch, workers, supporters and others
Bhalla sought mandate of the people for him to accelerate developmental activities in remotest and far-flung areas. He said that Congress was committed to counter and defeat divisive forces tooth and nail and would always work for development of Jammu and Kashmir irrespective of any caste, colour or religion. Many projects started during Congress Government are still incomplete due to BJP failure”, he said and sought vote and support of the people to finish that incomplete projects to improve their socio-economic conditions.
Bhalla described Congress party as synonym to development, secularism and national integrity. “After Independence, it was Congress that scripted the future of the country and advanced towards the path of development. Development in any sphere cannot be done over night but the consistent and committed efforts of Congress has brought India on the world map, which is now one among the leading nation of the world,” he added. Bhalla said J&K people are wise enough not to be swayed down by these opportunist politicians. They will definitely reject their dangerous agenda for division of our society and shall, only, choose path towards peace, development and prosperity.
Cautioning people against anti people policies pursued by the BJP Government, former Minister said that peace and development have become biggest causality since this govt had taken over. Bhalla said that disillusion meted out to people with the BJP government was growing, as governance was at the lowest depth and development had taken nose dive in the past over three years.”People were realising the futility of electing a government that was not only insensitive towards their problems but also responsible in adding to these on every front”, he said.
He said the developmental tempo initiated and sustained by Congress government during six years came to a grinding halt and all tall claims and promises delivered before and after formation of the government proved to be hoax. Similarly, the people across the state were facing hardships on account of utility services like power and drinking water, with rations becoming scarce at the sale outlets, especially in remote and far flung areas.
