A meeting of Senior leadership of congress party of Jammu province was held here today to take stock of the current political situation in the state.
AICC Secretaries Co-Incharge J&K Affairs Dr. Shakeel Ahmed (MLA) & Shri Sudhir Sharma (Former minister) attended the daylong meeting which was presided over by PCC Chief Shri G.A. Mir. All top leaders of the party including AICC Members, Former Ministers MLCs/ Ex-Legislators DCC presidents & Heads of frontal organizations were present.
A threadbare discussion was held on the current political scenario including the latest developments in the recent past, besides the outcome of recent ULB & ongoing panchayat elections, the future strategy for the forth coming electoral challenges in the state.
Almost all participants shared their views on these issues and gave feedback to the two nominees of AICC about the ground situation and the strategy to deal with the future challenges, to strengthen organization for better prospects in future.
The speakers highlighted the measures to be taken to strengthen the basic structure of the party at booth levels, blocks, Districts & PCC Levels to counter the false propaganda of the BJP at the centre and in the state.
The meeting shortlisted the issues to be prioritized in the days to come to expose the failure and misdeeds of the previous government especially the total failure of BJP in representing the aspirations of Jammu region.
Both the AICC Secretaries briefed the meeting about the challenges before the party in the wake of false propaganda of BJP and attempts to polarize the situation for political gains. The party cadres have to be on vanguard and cautioned them to educate the people to defeat these designs. Congress party has to guarantee unity in diversity while representing different and divergent aspirations in the state.
the party shall remain committed firmly to its ideology & principles and represent the genuine aspiration of the people of three region of the state.
They said that there is great opportunity for the congress party to emerge stronger in view of the total betrayal and failure of BJP to fulfill the commitments and come up to the expectations of the people of this region after a huge mandate on the basis of their fake slogans. This has left BJP totally exposed in the eyes of the people and congress feels the pulse of people and would move forward on right path to seek their attention towards congress party in big way.
President Sh. G.A. Mir in his address briefed the meeting about the experiences in the recent electoral exercises and the plan to gear up activities at Blocks and Districts. He said that party units would be geared up for the future elections which are quite near and asked the party leaders to fan out in their respective areas and highlight issues and problems of people at various levels.
Shri Mir further said that congress is the most acceptable secular force in all three regions of the state and people now realize the need to make congress stronger.
The congress cadres have to reach out to the people in every nook and corner of the state with due respect to expectations of people of different sections and faiths from congress party.
