In a significant demonstration against the current administration’s shortcomings, Congress Party today staged a protest, highlighting the government’s failure to deliver essential services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The protest, spearheaded by Uday Bhanu Chib, National General Secretary of IYC, was held at Patoli Mangotra Chowk, Ward 35 in Jammu North Assembly Constituency, where dozens of demonstrators gathered to voice their grievances.
Talking to reporters, Uday Chib sharply criticized the proxy government of BJP in J&K for its ineffective handling of basic amenities. He argued that the government’s promises of improved power infrastructure remain unfulfilled, leaving residents to grapple with persistent power outages. He said that people getting inflated power bills after installation of Smart Meters in J&K and there is none to listen to people’s issues in the administration.
The protest also spotlighted the government’s recent decision to impose property taxes, which Chib condemned as a burden on the already struggling populace. “The BJP’s failure to address these critical issues demonstrates a blatant disregard for the needs of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Uday Chib called upon the BJP Govt to honor its pledge of granting statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before the upcoming Assembly elections. He emphasized that the current administration’s neglect and broken promises have eroded public trust, and any further delay in fulfilling this commitment would only exacerbate the discontent among the citizens.
Chib warned the BJP leadership to desist from taken the people of Jammu and Kashmir for granted any longer. BJP must deliver on its promises and address the pressing concerns of the residents, or face the consequences in the upcoming elections, he added.
Among those who joined the protest include Surinder Kumar, Madan Singh, Kaka Ram, Fiaz Diwan, Randoth Singh, Pummy Manhas, Raghav and Tarun Vaid.
