Congress observed 54th death anniversary of Pt. Nehru in Jammu Province

JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir has said that it was the Leadership of Gandhi- Nehru which inspired the people of Kashmir and their leadership to reject the two nation theory of Mr. Jinnah and decided to seal their fate with a secular India and said those criticizing Pt. Nehru on Kashmir are either unaware of the historical role played by him or doing so because of their political compulsions.
Addressing a day long convention of Congress Party Workers of Gandhi Nagar constituency at Chatha Bhour Camp, today, organized by PCC Vice President Shri Raman Bhalla in connection with the 54th death anniversary of first Prime Minister of the Country Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, PCC Chief reminded the people and the workers of the historical role played by Pt. Nehru viz a viz Jammu and Kashmir and said that it was the leadership of Nehru – Gandhi which inspired the Kashmiri people and their leadership to reject the two nation theory of Mr. Jinnah and tie their fate permanently with India, the great nation based on secularism which guaranteed religious freedom.
Launching a scathing attack on those forces who are trying to distort history and mislead the present future generations about the historical role played by Pt. Nehru on Kashmir, he said that either they are unaware of his role or trying to mislead the nation because of their political interests. They are doing a great disservice to the nation and the great leader who deserved the tributes to bring Kashmir closer to the idea of India and ultimately accede to it.
Former Ministers Mula Ram, Mohd. Sharief Niaz, R.S. Chib, chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Co-treasurer Rajnish Sharma, General Secretaries Vikram Malhotra, Manmohan Singh, Ch. Shah Nawaz, Faqir Nath, President PYC Pranav Shagotra, President Seva Dal B.S. Sambyal, All India NSUI Secretary Neeraj Kundan, Kuldeep Verma, Krishan Lal Gupta, Y.V Sharma, Gurdarshan Singh, Pawan Raina, Gajan Singh, Vandana Sharma, Satish Sharma, Rajveer Singh and Amrit Bali-Block President were the prominent who paid tributes. Several functions were held by Congress in various parts of Jammu Province to observe the death anniversary of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. Ashok Sharma Former Legislator and Coordinator AICC Vichar Vibhag said that Pt. Nehru was architect of modern India while recalling his selfless services and monumental contribution in the freedom struggle and building of post independent India. Mr. Sharma added that Dr. S. Radha Krishan, the President of India, when Pt. Nehru died called him the greatest Indian after Mahatma Gandhi. Historian Rama Chandra Guha writes in his Magnum Opus India after Gandhi. The late Prime Minister Nehru and Law Minister Dr. B. R. Ambedkar both were in favour of common civil code. Both were of modernist caste of mind and believed in women empowerment. Prominent among those who paid the tributes were CaptL. K. Sharma, Chairman, Pradesh Congress Vichar Vibhag, H.S.Billoria, L. C. Sharma, M. Y. Mughal, S. S. Khajuria, Ram Lal, Jameet Singh,B. C. Raina, Vijay Mouji, Hans Raj, Kashmir Singh, Chain Singh, Shabir Ahmed, Sajad Mirza, Arjun Sharma, Arun Sharma, Sethi Parkash,Kurban Shah, Nakul Sharma and others. At Udhampur District Congress. Committee Udhampur organised a function under the chairmanship of D.C.C President Ashok Gupta. Large number of party workers participated in the function. Paying rich tributes to Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Shri Ashok Gupta said that Pt. Nehru was the architect of the modern India. He said that he laid the foundations for development, progress, a strong Nation with a aim to become self-sufficient in all fields.
The other prominent leaders addressed the gathering were ex M L A Krishan Chander Bhagat, Vinod Khajuria, Ashok Bakshi,Manav Upadhy, Mohan Lal Kalsotra and, Om Prakash, Shri Raj, Raju, Vijay Sharma, Block Presidents Kartar Singh, Surinder Manhas, Rajesh Gupta, Surinder Kessri Sewa Dal ,Shrief Hussain Panch ,Ravi Singh, Ch.Juned Ali, Kartar Chand, Naresh Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar Barri, Sunil Dutt, Happy Sharma and many others. In Rjouri District a function was organized by the District and Block Congress Committee Nowshera, Lamberi, Seri and Qila Darhal in which prominent delegates of PCC and DCC paid rich tributes to Pt. Nehru. The function was presided over by Som Raj Heer-Block President Nowshera and attended by BCC Presidents Chander Bakshi, Rajinder Singh, Raj Kumar, besides Baisakhi Ram, Mukund Lal, Ex-Sarpanch, Pt. Tilak Raj, Hav. Hoshiar Dass, Ramji Dass, Sat Pal Sharma, S. Dayal Singh, S. Isher Singh, Altaf Ahmed, Ch. Shafi, Pishori Lal, Chander Kumar, Puran Chand, Gorav Sharma (Advocate) and others. An other function was held at Siot (Sunderbani) by the Block Congress Committee in which prominent leaders and workers paid rich tributes to Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. BCC President Anil Khajuria presided over the function and attended by Paras Ram, Moti Ram, Raju Chib, Ch. Mir Hussain and others.
Congress activists organized function at Rs pura, today. Pardesh congress sectary Pawan Raina presided over the function whereas; dozens of party activists paid floral tributes to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Throwing light on the philosophy and life of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Subash Gupta said that his life was full of devotion, dedication, and truthfulness for the nation. It was Nehru, who designed the modern India and laid the strong foundation stone for its future. “Nehru worked not only for India but for the world community at large,” he added.
He further said that ideas of Jawahar Lal Nehru are very much relevant even today and world needs to adopt these ideas. PCC Sectary Pawan Raina remembering the great contribution of Nehru in the freedom struggle of India said that he has to undergo a tough time after the independence. On one hand, he has to develop the nation and on the other hand, he has to keep the freedom maintained. It was the leadership and dedication of Jawahar Lal Nehru that despite several hurdles he succeeded in giving new heights to nation and to follow the footsteps of Nehru Ji would be real tribute to him. Prominent among those who paid tributes to Jawahar Lal Nehru includes Sham Lal Bagat, Gurmeet Singh, Kulbinder Singh, Ex Panch Hari Chand, Mukesh Gupta and others.
