JKPCC Working President and Congress contesting candidate from Jammu-Reasi Parliamentary seat Raman Bhalla today felicitated Booth agents of Jammu North constituency in an impressive programme at Paloura organized by Hari Singh Chib Vice President JKPCC and Uday Bhanu Chib IYC National General Secretary accompanied by Mula Ram Former Minister and JKPCC Sr Vice President and Senior Congress leaders. Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that the BJP government at the Centre had “failed in every field” and claimed if the Congress wins, the INDIA bloc will form the government at the Centre in 2024.Targeting the Centre, Bhalla said, “It has failed in every field, be it inflation, unemployment, farmers, youth all are suffering.” Taking a dig at BJP’s claims in J&K, he claimed there is a lot of acrimony against BJP in J&K. He said that the BJP is hoping that it will come into power “in the name of religion and religious polarization, but people have understood them”. “The poor people are suffering from an unprecedented price rise and the throttling of their voice and fundamental rights with the misuse of power. The poor, youth, backward classes, Dalits and minorities are being subjected to the worst-ever cruelty. As a political party, it’s the biggest sin to desert the cause of the people when they are suffering the worst nightmare in their life,” Bhalla said. Every Indian is aware of unprecedented unemployment, rising disparity in society, misuse of power and subjugation of the democratic institutions as never before, untold suffering of the farmers and farm-labourers, and unabated crackdown on the voices of dissent, is fanning hatred and creating divide among communities,” he added.
Bhalla said the BJP is in an extreme state of panic as it can sense defeat in the Lok Sabha polls. He accused Party of dividing people on ethnic, linguistic and regional lines. The closer the Lok Sabha polls come, the frustration and hopelessness of the BJP and its subsidiaries in Jammu and Kashmir is becoming visible,” he said.”Having done nothing, they are now eying gains from dividing people on ethnic, linguistic and regional lines,” he said, adding that the BJP knows that its “lies are not swaying people”. However, any misstep at this juncture will have far-reaching implications that will be borne by our future generations, Bhalla said.”Ask yourselves what have you got since the BJP came to power in New Delhi. They denuded us of our identity, our unique character. They snatched our rights, and our land resources. The ration quota was decreased and it’s also being withheld now.””Beneficiaries of social welfare schemes are being made to beg of whatever little monetary help they used to get. Horticulture, agriculture and handicrafts sectors are bleeding,” Bhalla said.
Bhalla said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to retain power at any cost. They have spread hate for political gains. Congress is committed to deliver justice to all. Out manifesto also aims to give justice and empower women, youth, farmers, workers and deprived sections. Congress and INDIA Block are committed to protect the Constitution. He said while what happened in Surat and Indore show the Constitution is in danger, the way force was applied on candidates in Gandhinagar to withdraw should alert us to the lurking peril.
Bhalla termed the Constitution as a “life-giver” and said as long as the Constitution remains safe, “our honour, self-respect and rights will remain safe.”He, said, “The way the people of country are continuously coming forward to support us after our direct appeal has given new strength to our fight against the BJP in saving the Constitution and reservation.”He said with the people coming forward against BJP Govt, there is a new enthusiasm in our struggle for social justice. It seems that our strength has increased manifold. As long as the Constitution remains safe, our honour, self-respect and rights will remain safe,”He urged people to “unite and pledge to vote” for their own welfare and ensure victory for the candidates of INDIA bloc.
Maintaining that religion was a matter of personal faith, Hari Singh Chib Vice President JKPCC said that everybody believed in God and had faith in him. Religion and politics must be kept separate, he said, accusing BJP of trying to mix the two. When things get mixed up, it becomes difficult to make a choice between the right and the wrong, he added. Questioning the BJP’s claims of nationalism and patriotism, Hari Singh challenged the party leaders to name a single sacrifice any of its party leaders had made during the freedom struggle or after the country became independent. While the BJP’s forebears would take employment with the British, he said, Congress leaders and workers like Pandit Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi went to jail.
Uday Bhanu Chib IYC National General Secretary said that feedback from the ground suggests that our appeal has penetrated with the masses and found resonance in their core concerns, compelling the top leaders to prioritize this along with prices and unemployment. After walking 4000 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on the Bharat Jodo Yatra and travelling 6,600 km from Manipur to Mumbai on Nyay Yatra, Rahul Gandhi has now embarked on Samvidhan Bachao Yatra. Congress is the party of Indian constitutionalism and Indian nationalism. We will protect its principles, its values, and its basic structure till our dying breath, added Chib.”
