A massive search operation with intermittent firing has been launched on Tuesday after security forces established a contact with a group of terrorists in forest belt of Basantgarh in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Udhampur-Reasi Range, Raees Bhat said that after specfic input was gleaned regarding movement in the area, a search operation was launched in the wee hours by our parties. “A contact has been established with a group of terrorists in Khaned area of PS Basantgarh. Operation is underway,” he said. However, sources said that three to four hiding terrorists are trapped in the operation and are divided in two groups, adding, “intermittent firing is going on.”
