Contractual Plus 2 Lecturers meet Kavinder, urge him to take up their issues with Govt

Contractual plus 2 Lecturers, who have been engaged by Government as per Govt. Order No. 1584_Edu of 2003 dated 21-10-2003, met former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta at his residence. The delegation members were Pankaj Sharma, Rajnijamwal, Chander Shakher, Kanchan Bala, Sangeeta Sambyal, Rajni Sharma and Anil Sharma.  They discussed various issues pertaining to services in the department. The delegation brought to the notice of Former Deputy Chief Minister that they had been working in the department ranging from seven (07) to fifteen (15) years and all the engaged lecturers across the state are working and delivering their services with dedication. They also said that due to unemployment and being well qualified we have to continue our service in the department for feeding our families and with a hope that we shall also be absorbed in the department after 7 years of service on contract basis. These Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a policy framed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/Consolidated employees after rendering seven years of services.  They urged Gupta to take up Matter with the concerned for early redressal of the problems faced by the staff so that they are able to earn the bread for family.

Gupta assured the delegation members that their demands are genuine and the matter shall be taken up the Governor and union Government as well.  He said BJP is committed to welfare of the citizens of the state. Gupta also assured that the step motherly treatment of the Governor’s administration shall be discussed with Governor and GoI as well. He said many countries have the policy to pay highest salaries to Teaching community and the same policy is successful in those countries where the education standard is high. He said since teachers play a vital role in the nation building by imparting quality education, they should be paid accordingly and that too without any mental harassment. He said these type of contractual appointments with respect to teaching fraternity should be banned and those who are rendering their services should be regularized. Gupta stressed for framing a committee in the state to look into the issues of contractual teaching fraternity engaged at all levels.
