JK reports 1081 new positive cases, 55517 recovered so far

India’s nCoV cases tally crossed 61-lakh mark after recording a spike of 70,589 cases in the past 24 hours pushing the figure to 61,45,292, as per Union Health Ministry data on Tuesday. Also, the nation registered 84,877 cured and discharged cases in the same duration pegging the number at 51,01,397. Meanwhile, there were 776 pandemic deaths since Monday pushing the death toll to 96,318 till date. Active case-load on the country witnessed a drop by 15,064 on Tuesday and presently India is home to 9,47,576 active cases of Novel Coronavirus. In terms of percentage, the active cases are 15.42 per cent, recovered at 83.01 per cent, and the deaths 1.57 per cent. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 11,42,811 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, taking the total cumulative samples tested since the beginning of the pandemic till Monday to 7,31,10,041. Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected with maximum case count as well as in terms of maximum active cases. Globally, the United States continues to remain the most-infected, followed by India and Brazil.
The Government on Monday informed that 1081 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 640 from Jammu division and 441 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 74095. Also 18 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 11 from Jammu division and 07 from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 1250 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 615 from Jammu Division and 635 from Kashmir Division. According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 74095 positive cases, 17414 are Active Positive, 55517 have recovered and 1164 have died; 331 in Jammu division and 833 in Kashmir division. The Bulletin further said that out of 1600606 test results available, 1526511 samples have been tested as negative till September 29, 2020. Till date 573200 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 14281 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 17414 in isolation and 52052 under home surveillance. Besides, 488289 persons have completed their surveillance period. Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 14712 positive cases (including 222 cases reported today) with 2138 Active Positive, 12285 recovered (including 187 cases recovered today), 289 deaths; Baramulla has 4335 positive cases (including 62 cases reported today) with 1280 Active Positive, 2931 recovered (including 15 cases recovered today), 124 deaths; Pulwama reported 3909 positive cases (including 24 cases reported today) with 433 active positive cases, 3408 recovered (including 42 cases recovered today), 68 deaths; Kulgam has 2260 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 118 Active Positive, 2099 recoveries (including 19 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Shopian has 2025 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 193 Active Positive, 1800 recovered (including 09 cases reported today), 32 deaths; Anantnag district has 3503 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 431 Active Positive, 3009 recovered (including 20 cases recovered today), 63 deaths; Budgam has 4820 positive cases (including 29 cases reported today) with 964 Active Positive and 3774 recovered (including 109 cases recovered today), 82 deaths; Kupwara has 3575 positive cases (including 36 cases reported today) with 816 Active Positive, 2692 recovered (including 32 cases recovered today), 67 deaths; Bandipora has 3385 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today) with 478 Active Positive, 2870 recovered (including 107 cases recovered today), 37 deaths and Ganderbal has 2868 positive cases (including 24 cases reported today) with 388 active positive cases, 2452 recoveries (including 95 cases recovered today) and 28 deaths.

Similarly, Jammu has 12662 positive cases (including 313 cases reported today) with 3585 active positive cases, 8897 recoveries (including 300 cases recovered today), 180 deaths; Rajouri has 2626 positive cases (including 61 cases reported today) with 1307 active positive cases, 1288 recovered (including 21 cases recovered today), 31 deaths; Ramban has 1323 positive cases (including 28 cases reported today) with 455 active positive, 858 recoveries (including 28 cases recovered today), 10 deaths; Kathua has 2051 positive cases (including 29 cases reported today) with 526 Active positive, 1504 recovered (including 41 cases recovered today), 21 deaths; Udhampur has 2212 positive cases (including 49 cases reported today) with 490 active positive cases, 1704 recovered (including 40 cases recovered today), 18 deaths; Samba has 1738 positive cases (including 44 cases reported today) with 810 Active Positive, 908 recoveries (including 39 cases reported today), 20 deaths; Doda has 2193 positive cases (including 34 cases reported today) with 1110 active positive cases, 1056 recoveries (including 43 cases recovered today), 27 deaths; Poonch has 1747 positive cases (including 21 cases reported today) with 936 active positive, 799 recoveries (including 59 cases reported today), 12 deaths; Reasi has 945 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today) with 394 active positive, 546 recoveries and 05 deaths while Kishtwar has 1206 positive cases (including 46 cases reported today) with 562 active positive cases and 637 recoveries (including 44 cases reported today) and 07 deaths.

According to the bulletin, of the total 74095 positive cases in J&K 8747 have been reported as travelers while 65348 as others.

The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.

The bulletin added that there are 1306 COVID dedicated beds, 1170 Isolation beds with 852 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 72 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2358 COVID dedicated beds, 2214 Isolation beds where 1670 beds are vacant and 144 ICU beds where 112 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3664 COVID dedicated beds, 3384 Isolation beds with 2522 beds vacant and 280 ICU beds with 184 vacant beds in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.

The government has also started free Tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install esanjeevani OPD app from google playstore.

Besides, 24×7 Rapid Antigen Testing facility for COVID-19 has been started outside the emergency of GMC Hospital Jammu .The facility will be very useful for the segregation of patients in emergency wing of GMC Jammu.

Meanwhile, a 24×7 COVID Control Room have been set up for redressal of the grievances related to COVID-19 positive patients admitted in the Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College, Jammu and Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 meter from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.

As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.

The bulletin again explained that early detection of COVID-19 can prevent the spread of disease so we need to be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us. “Not disclosing symptoms could put life of individuals and their families at risk. In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early. Do not fear, call COVID-19 helpline numbers and seek medical advice”.

Advisory has further exhorted upon the people not to step out of home, unless absolutely necessary. “If you have to move out for unavoidable reasons, ensure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing, personal hygiene and frequent hand washing with soap and water.”

In case of any emergency people can avail free ambulance services 24×7 at their doorsteps by calling on toll-free number 108 while as pregnant women and sick infants can avail free ambulance services by dialing toll-free number 102.

The bulletin has informed that the Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine, J&K is distributing AYUSH Medicines having immunity boosting, immuno-modulator, anti-oxidant, rejuvenator, anti-stress, metabolism regulator, anti-allergic, anti-pyretic, anti-tussive, bronchodilator, etc properties during the COVID-19 pandemic. The department so far has provided medicine to 9.69 lakh people that include various frontline workers, senior citizens, PRIs, police/paramilitary personals and general masses. Moreover, preventive measures and Yoga therapies are also being advised to the people to take care of lifestyle/mental disorders so that physical and mental health is ensured during this pandemic.

Public is advised to strictly follow the advisories issued by the government from time to time and rely only on the information released by the government through the daily media bulletin to print and electronic media.

People are also advised to refrain from spreading rumours and pay no heed to them at the same time.
