JAMMU, MAY 18:
The Communist Party of India (ML) Liberation state secretary Nirdosh Uppal has welcomed the conditional ceasefire announcement of the central government in Jammu and Kashmir, but observed that the centre does not appear to be serious in pursuing “suspension of Counter-Insurgency operations” against militants.
Addressing a workers meeting, which debated the “ceasefire announcement”, Nirdosh Uppal has said that this announcement has been made in haste because all the stakeholders have not been taken on board for this purpose and no home-wok has been done by the governments of Jammu and Kashmir and the centre.
He said that the governments should have initiated a “Comprehensive Dialogue Process” with Pakistan for restoration of peace on the borders besides providing succour to the residents of border areas.
On Karnataka political developments, Nirdosh Uppal welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court for floor test in the Legislative Assembly of chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.
He said that all the decisions taken in the administrative reshuffle should be reversed.
The CPI(ML) Liberation has asked the central government to dismiss the Karnataka Governor at the earliest for his undemocratic and unconstitutional actions.
