On “International Day for fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking” -Crime Branch, Jammu, as part of the United Nations Drugs Control Programme, carried out awareness programmes by way of rallies in Jammu City today on 26th of June, 2019, which marks the International Day for fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Two teams were formed at Zonal Crime Headquarters, Jammu and were flagged off from Zonal Crime Headquarters, Jammu by Sh. Mushtaq Ahmed, InchargeSSP Crime Branch, Jammu along with other senior officers / officials of Crime Branch Jammu present on the occasion, for intense campaign in various parts of Jammu City. These rallies were aimed at creating awareness among the people, particularly the present day youth who are prone to getting affected by this menace. The Officers / Officials of Crime Branch, Jammu actively participated in the programme for the whole day by way of interacting with the people, making announcements through Public address system in different parts of the city, conducting road shows, displaying banners, placards besides circulating pamphlets, booklets and other documents containing valuable information on the abuse of drugs to the people. People, particularly the youth of the society were informed and made aware that the drug problem constitutes a serious threat to public health, safety and wellbeing of the society and the need of the hour is to shun this path and join hands in the fight against this menace.
The Anti-drug teams were led by Inspr. Mohd Afzal Wani and the second team was led by Inspr. Vijay Verma of Crime Branch, Jammu alongwith their staff.
The other officers present on the occasion were -CPO Jawaid Khawaja, DySP B.K. Ganjoo, DySP Mohd AslamBhat, DySP Irfan Khan, DySP P.K. Tickoo, besides other NGO’s and Lower-subordinate staff.
