CTTIK President Meets Union Tourism Minister

During the ongoing Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) in Jaipur, the President of the Chamber of Tourism and Trade Industry Katra (CTTIK), Mr. Raj Kumar Padha, met with the Hon’ble Union Minister of Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, to discuss the current situation in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in light of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Mr. Padha conveyed the deep concerns of tourism stakeholders regarding the impact of the incident on the region’s travel and pilgrimage sectors. He emphasized the urgency of restoring confidence among tourists and ensuring robust security for visitors. In response, Shri Shekhawat strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack and assured Mr. Padha that the Government of India is taking comprehensive measures to stabilize the situation. He affirmed that detailed plans are being drawn up for the revival of tourism across Jammu & Kashmir, with a special focus on promoting and strengthening pilgrim tourism in the Jammu region. To deepen collaboration and emphasize the spiritual importance of the region, Mr. Raj Kumar Padha extended a cordial invitation to the Hon’ble Minister to visit the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra. Shri Shekhawat graciously accepted the invitation and expressed his reverence for the sacred site. Both sides expressed confidence that through joint efforts and strategic planning, normalcy will be restored, and tourism in Jammu & Kashmir will witness a renewed phase of growth and resilience.
