Negligent Head of B. Voc, Dr Jaya Bhasin under the patronage of Vice Chancellor, Centre University Jammu is openly playing with the academic career of students enrolled in this subject and drastically curtailed the duration of Semester VI just to save her skin ostensibly at the instance of VC Prof Ashok Aima.
This was stated by Manmohan Singh Spokesperson National Secular Forum (NSF) in a press conference today and took strong view of pigheadedness and anti students attitude of Centre University Jammu to ignore gross negligence of Head of B. Voc Dr Jaya Bhasin, who could not even complete the ninety days attendance of students out of six months VI semester forcing conduct of examination within two months in gross violations of university statutes.
He said that Semester VI of B. Voc subject was just of two months and Dr Jaya Bhasin, who is favourite of VC Prof Aima could not complete Semester VI on time and to avoid smoldering resentment of students against Dr Jaya Bhasin for her such an inability, university conducted the examination of semester V in ending May 2018 and that of Semester VI in early August 2018 which is unheard of an unprecedented.
Manmohan Singh expressed his anguish over carelessness and casual way of attending the students and said that this is definitely tarnishing the image and standards of academic in Centre University, Jammu reducing it to the status akin to private money minting Institution. Lambasting the University administration for such a sorry state of affairs, Manmohan Singh apprehended similar conditions prevailing in semesters of other subjects introduced in varsity and needs thorough relook and scrutiny to update and streamline the semester system in Centre University Jammu.
He urged the University Grants Commission, New Delhi to depute a special team of officers from UGC to hold thorough probe into the irregularities in squeezing the span of semester from six months to two months as also holding the examination in a hush manner at the cost of academic interests of students there. Among those who were present in the press conference included, Ishtaq Naik, Anshu Sharma, and Surjit Kumar.
