The Central University of Jammu celebrated 70th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour, at its Campus, Rahya Suchani in Samba district.
The function was attended by a huge gathering of teaching faculty, officers, staff and students of the University of Jammu. Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Prof Ashok Aima unfurled the National Flag.
Greeting the University fraternity, on the occasion of 70th Republic Day of country, Prof Aima said we are proud to be a part of Republic of India and we shall render our respective duties to take it to the further heights.
The VC informed the gathering the University Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) centres. “Both centres for this University are New Year gifts, and with hard works, I’m sure that we will achieve ultimate targets of these centres”, he said.
He further informed that University Grant Commission (UGC) has released all pending funds it would also strengthen the ongoing construction works in the campus. “With the release of pending funds, I hope soon more academic blocks will be commissioned in next one year”, he added.
He urged upon the students and scholars of University to take the University at news heights.
The VC also urged upon the faculty members to work hard to make the University centre of excellence.
Earlier, at the arrival of the Vice-Chancellor, accompanied by Registrar, CUJ, Dr Ravi Kumar, Guard of Honour was presented by the CUJ’s Security Guards. Prof. Deveanand, Prof Govind Singh, Prof S K Khosa, Prof N K Tripathy, Prof Zaffar and other senior faculty members accompanied Vice Chancellor at Flag Hoisting ceremony.
