The vibrant Yuvtarang Cultural Fest, being organized by the Department of Student Welfare at Cluster University of Jammu, under the patronage of Honorable Vice Chancellor Senior Professor K.S. Chandrasekar, showcased the diverse talents of students in multiple events across various venues on the fifth day. The fest continues to be an inspiring celebration of culture, learning, and tradition, bringing students together in friendly competition. Highlights of the day included an exciting Quiz Competition at SPMR College of Commerce, Classical Vocal Solo and Classical Instrumental Solo performances, and an Indian Group Song contest at Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar. Meanwhile, MAM College hosted captivating skit and mime performances, leaving the audience impressed by the students’ creativity and dramatic flair.In Quiz competition GGM Science College secured the first position, followed by GCW Gandhi Nagar at second place, while MAM College secured third Place. Dr. Chinmoyi Maharana from the University of Jammu’s Department of Zoology served as the Quiz Master, guiding participants through an exciting session of intellectual challenge. At GCW Gandhi Nagar, in the Classical Vocal Solo category, Deepanjali from GCOE won first prize, Ayushi from the School of Sciences took second, and Aruna from GCW Gandhi Nagar secured third place. The Classical Instrumental Solo contest was won by Mohd Zaigham Salaria from GGM Science College, with Sonakshi Sharma from SPMR College of Commerce and Seerat from GGM Science College placing second and third. MAM College hosted theatrical events, including skits and mime performances. In the skit category, Team of MAM College won first prize, SPMR College of Commerce secured second, and GCW Gandhi Nagar was placed at third. Mime performances saw team of GCW Gandhi Nagar winning first place, MAM College secured second and GGM Science College Secured the third position.
The event witnessed the presence of prominent figures, including Dr. S.P. Sarsawat, Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar; Prof. Rajinder Singh, Principal SPMR Commerce College and Prof. B.B. Anand, Principal MAM College.
The entire festival was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Monika Sharma, Dean of the Department of Students Welfare, with support from her dedicated team that include Dr. Babita Jamwal, Chairperson of Campus Cultural Activities; Dr. Kuldeep Raina, Cultural Coordinator; Associate Deans Prof. Tarseem Lal, Prof. Amit Paul Kour, and Dr. Ashaq Hussain, alongside Assistant Deans Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Prof. Sunita Kumari, Prof. Paramjeet Singh, Prof. Mohd. Ashraf and Dr. Roomi Rani. Observers Dr. Ranvijay Singh, Controller Examination CLUJ and Dr. Vishal Sharma, Dean Social Sciences and Dr. Zubair Kales, Dean Teacher Education were instrumental in ensuring the smooth conduct of the competitions.
