Today thousand of Daily Wagers of PHE Department from different Districts of Jammu province converged at the Press Club Jammu where a strong protest was staged on the burning issues pertaining recent Govt order for discontinuance of the workers as a result of which thousand of works will be deprived of their livelihood and resultantly their families will come on roads.
The workers were already much aggrieved and many of them had committed suicide under the compelling circumstances for non release of their earned wages of the PHE workers for about 60 months. It was unfortunate that the Govt, the concerned Department as also the different Agencies were all along mute spectator on the agony of the workers and their suicidal deaths. Responsibility needed to be fixed as to who was really accountable for these avoidable deaths to ensure that no further suicide of the kind reoccur.
Moreover, Tanveer Hussain, President of All J&K PHE ITI TRAINED, CP AND LAND DONER WORKERS ASSOCIATION mentioned and expressed elaborately the agonies, sufferings and Govt as also the state administration for the last over twenty years by not fulfilling the genuine demands of the workers regarding their regularization and payment of pending wages for years together.
