DC flags off 32 Haj Pilgrims from Samba

SAMBA, MAY 15:
Deputy Commissioner (DC), Abhishek Sharma on Wednesday flagged off a group of 32 Haj pilgrims of Samba District here from conference Hall DC office.
The group of pilgrims includes 16 males and 16 females, of which 28 shall report to Delhi State Haj Committee at Haj Manzil Turkman Gate, Asif Ali Road, New Delhi and remaining 04 shall report at Srinagar.
The District Administration Samba has appointed Nodal Officer and Liaison Officer to facilitate and ensure all necessary arrangements and facilities to enable the pilgrims to travel safely and comfortably to Haj house Srinagar and Haj Manzil Delhi for their onward journey to Saudi Arabia from International Airport Delhi and Srinagar.
Interacting with the pilgrims, the DC congratulated them for getting the opportunity to perform holy Hajj and wished them safe and secure pilgrimage.
He appealed to them to pray for peace and prosperity of the country and their fellow citizens from the District. He emphasized the significance of the Haj pilgrimage and the importance of upholding the values of peace, unity and brotherhood.
Furthermore, the DC advised the pilgrims to install and use the Haj Suvidha App launched by Union Minority Affairs Minister Smriti Zubin Irani on March 3 that would provide necessary information and direct access to important services like training modules, flight and accommodation details during annual pilgrimage.
The event was attended by SSP Samba, Vinay Kumar, ADC, Suresh Chander, DIO, Ashiq Rafiq Malik, Liaison Officer, Yaqoob Khan and officials from the District Administration and Police, representatives from the religious community, and well-wishers who came together to bid farewell to the pilgrims and pray for their well-being during their sacred journey.
