Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, today flagged off a group of farmers on a tour-cum-exposure visit to enhance their knowledge and introduce them to advanced agricultural techniques.
The flag-off ceremony took place at the DC Office Rajouri, where DC Sharma interacted with the farmers and emphasized the importance of embracing innovative farming methods to boost productivity and sustainability. In his address, the DC encouraged the farmers to make the most of this opportunity, stressing that learning about the latest agricultural practices and technologies is essential for improving crop & fruit yield and ensuring efficient resource management. “This exposure visit will provide you with a first-hand understanding of new techniques that can transform the way you farm. Our goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve greater productivity and profitability,” he said.
Chief Horticulture Officer Sushil Singh Angurana shared that a group of 35 farmers drawn from across different tehsils and agricultural backgrounds will be exposed to progressive practices and innovations that can address the unique challenges they face in Rajouri’s diverse agricultural landscape.
Furthermore, he emphasized that this exposure visit will include visits to model farms, advanced horticultural facilities, and agricultural institutions where farmers can observe and interact with experts in various domains, including high-density plantation techniques, integrated pest management, efficient irrigation systems, and organic farming practices.
