DC Reasi reviews implementation of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

REASI, SEPT 30:
Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the ongoing installation of smart meters in the district.
During the meeting, the DC took a detailed division-wise review of registrations, applications and rooftop solar installations under the flagship scheme. It was informed that a total of 1,081 registrations have been completed out of which 226 beneficiaries have deposited the upfront cost. So far, 204 rooftop solar systems have been successfully installed while 39 installations are currently underway.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow pace, the DC stressed the importance of accelerating progress and increasing registrations under the scheme. She directed officials to intensify awareness campaigns to educate the public about the benefits of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and encourage wider participation.
In addition, the DC also reviewed the status of smart meter installations across the district. It was informed that 9,349 smart meters have been installed so far. DC Malik instructed the Executive Engineer, PDD to expedite the installation process to ensure coverage of all areas at the earliest.
DDC laid special emphasis on completing the installation of smart meters in 189 government buildings without delay.
Highlighting the importance of timely execution, the DC directed the officers to adopt a fast-track approach to bridge existing gaps and meet the set targets within the stipulated timelines.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Reasi Sukhdev Singh Samyal, CPO Narinder Kumar, DSEO Ashok Kumar, Executive Engineer PDD, AEEs and other officials.
