Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today chaired a meeting to assess the physical and financial progress of the development projects and implementation of different welfare schemes in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the ongoing construction of Tehsil office (Niabat) buildings at Kangri, Rajal, and Manjakote, emphasizing the need for timely completion. He directed the concerned officers to expedite the work while maintaining quality standards.
Further, the progress of projects under the SAMAGRA initiative was assessed, including the Boys Hostel at Thandi Kassi, the Physics and Chemistry Lab at Laroka and the construction of three classrooms at GHSS Khawas. The DC instructed the executing agencies to ensure the projects are completed within the stipulated time frame.
A detailed review of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana was conducted, with directions issued to all Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADMs) and Tehsildars to closely monitor its implementation. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of obtaining daily reports from the concerned Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) and Junior Engineers (JEs) regarding the scheme’s progress and addressing any delays in installation. Additionally, the Information Department was directed to widely publicize success stories and beneficiary experiences through videos to encourage greater participation.
The meeting also focused on AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) beneficiaries, with the DC instructing the AD FCS & CA and Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) to identify eligible households, remove inactive and bogus beneficiaries, and ensure thorough physical verification to maintain data integrity and transparency.
The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of the registration progress on the JK SAMADHAN Portal, allocating targets to concerned officers and directing them to achieve the set objectives efficiently.
A review of the PMAY-G (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin) survey was conducted, wherein the DC emphasized the inclusion of genuine beneficiaries and the exclusion of undeserving applicants.
Similarly, the PMAY-Urban 2.0 survey was also discussed, with directions for its effective execution.
To strengthen field-level monitoring, the Deputy Commissioner mandated a structured tour plan for ADCs to verify beneficiaries under AAY, PMAY-G, and other welfare schemes. Additionally, all district officers were instructed to conduct field visits at least once a month to ensure ground-level assessment and effective implementation.
