DC Samba briefs Sarpanchs about social security schemes

SAMBA, JULY 24:
To encompass the grass root level institutions in the government sponsored Social security schemes, the district administration Samba today organized an interaction session here with pan District Sarpanchs.
Chairing the assembly Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sushma Chauhan, said that the pension cases under various schemes including Old age pension, widow pension, handicap pension and other assistance provided through department of social welfare, shall be completed verified and corroborated through the elected representatives of panchayats in order to have a error & doubling free pensioners list.
She said “addition of new beneficiaries under all social security schemes irrespective of district target, should deposit their forms at concerned Dept. within in stipulated time”.
During the meeting the DC directed Sub Divisional Magistrates of Vijaypur and Ghagwal to provide hassle free income certificates to the applicants on priority. Chief Medical Officer was directed to hold special health camps on July 25 in Samba, on July 26 at Purmandal and at Ramgarh block at the respective BMO office to provide necessary medical certificates to physically challenged persons availing the handicap pension.
The DC also exhorted upon sarpanchs to take active part in ongoing rationalization of the beneficiary list and inform all the existing beneficiaries to deposit their Aadhar cards with the social welfare office.
Later, Sarpanchs expressed their gratitude for including them in ongoing government policies. They also articulated demands, to which Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing and assured earliest redressal.
