SAMBA, AUGUST 03: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria, today visited the Ramgarh sector to assess the repair and restoration works on damaged fencing, bunds, embankments, damaged during recent flash floods in river Basanter.
Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Vikas Gupta, Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Executive Engineer Flood Control Sunil Bhasin, Tehsildar Ramgarh Kamalpreet besides, SHO Ramgarh other officials were also present.
Deputy Commissioner visited village Kamhore, in Ramgarh Sector and inspected repair work on embankment against inundation on river Basanter. He asked the concerned for expeditious execution of the repair work to save the nearby villages, Paddy fields and livestock by placing studs and crates along the river embankment.
Deputy Commissioner directed Executive Engineer Flood Control and Irrigation to expedite all the repair works on the damaged infrastructure and keep their men and machinery on alert during the ongoing rainy season.
DC directed the district administration to keep a strong coordination with Army, BSF, CRPF, Police and NGO’s to execute the already devised preparedness cum rescue plan during floods.
