DC Udhampur reviews progress of NABARD-funded projects

Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai chaired a meeting to review the status of pending projects funded under NABARD.
The meeting focused on assessing project execution timelines and resolving bottlenecks to ensure timely completion.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh, Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Iqbal, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anil Manhas, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti I&FC and Deputy General Manager NABARD along with other key officers.
During the meeting, DC conducted a detailed case-by-case review of each pending project.
She emphasized the importance of expediting the pace of work and directed departments to adopt a proactive approach in addressing bottlenecks impacting project implementation. DC stressed the need for better inter-departmental coordination and prompt resolution of issues related to land acquisition, resource mobilization and administrative clearances.

“Widening of Akhnoor road on track”

The district administration Jammu has taken cognizance of the claims about stalled road-widening work between Kameshwar Mandir and Pannu Chowk and has clarified that the project is on track.
Refuting claims made in a report published by a local daily, Executive Engineer PWD(R&B) Akhnoor stated that the work on the main road is on. Drain construction near the bridge has commenced, and wet mix material has been dumped at the site. Within three days, the work for blacktopping the bridge approach will also begin.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya has reiterated that there is no question of halting the work. He further assured the public that the administration is fully committed to completing the project at the earliest to minimize inconvenience to residents and commuters.
