DDB approves Rs. 180 cr annual 2018-19 plan for district Budgam

The District Development Board approved the outlay plan of Rs. 18057.29 lakh for the district Budgam. The decision was taken at the board meeting held today under the chair of Minister for Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Abdul Gani Kohli, who is chairman of District Development Board Budgam.
Minister Relief, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management, Javed Mustafa Mir, Minister for Revenue Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, VC, Gujjar and Bakerwal Advisory Board, Gulzar Ahmad, Legislators, Aga Syed Ruhullah, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Ali Mohammad Dar, Saif-ud-Din Bhat, Aga Syed Mehmood, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik besides several heads of the various departments were present in the meeting.
Underling need for timely implementation of the Board decisions, the Chairman asked the officers to work in close coordination in order to ensure completion of the works in time bound manner.
The chairman said, “It is our collective responsibility to take the schemes to the door steps of the people especially living in far off areas of the district.”
Referring to the points raised by the legislators, Abdul Gani Kohli asked all the officers to mobilize their field functionaries so that targets fixed for the year are achieved within the given time frame. He said health sector needs more attention as the human population of the district is spread in hilly terrains.
Urging officers to take required steps for sensitizing people about the schemes approved by the State and Central Governments, the Minister said publicity of Prime Minister’s schemes has become imperative so that its benefit will percolate down to the masses for which these schemes have been framed. He said welfare of the people is high on the agenda of the Government and asked officers to reach out people for bringing them under the ambit of the schemes launched in different sectors in the State for them.
Earlier, the public representatives raised several important issues pertaining to health, education, power, irrigation, water, roads sectors besides land compensation to the farmers, rationalization of staff in educational institutions and health centers.
The chairman asked the deputy commissioner to take necessary steps for Humhama- Budgam road widening project to address unanimous demand of the legislators of the district.
He directed DC to take urgent steps to remove all the encroachments on Budgam- Bemina road.
Regarding the Mir Mustafa Marvel Irrigation scheme, the chairman asked the concerned chief engineer to take necessary concrete steps so that this vital irrigation facility is protected from any damage.
To address the space crunch issue of district hospital Budgam, Chairman directed concerned to take serious steps for its relocation to new place for ensuring better health care facilities to the general public for which MLA Budgam offered 300 kanals of at Reshipora.
The chairman also stressed on the timely macadamization of roads.
The meeting was informed that Rs. 84.63 lakh have been earmarked for the agriculture and allied services for 2018-19, while as Rs. 6928.84 lakh have been approved for the rural development department.
It was informed that for the current financial year Rs. 1892.50 lakh have been earmarked to carry out work different schemes under Irrigation, power, sericulture, roads and buildings sectors.
Under the social and general services, Rs. 8132.80 lakh have been earmarked for the current financial year, while Rs. 6 crore stands expended out of Rs.11 crore allocated under SSA during last financial year.
It was informed that six abandoned KGVBs have been taken up for construction last year and will be completed shortly. Under PMDPR 73 works have been taken up and most of them have been completed so far, it was informed Rs. 8 Cr are being spent on reconstruction of gutted/ damaged school buildings for which tendering process is going on, the meeting was told.
It was also given out in the meeting that 358 kilometer road length have been black topped and projects have been made for macadamizing of remaining road length of the district during current financial year.
