District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today conducted a public grievances redressal camp at Ramban to listen to grievances of public for speedy disposal.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Basharat Hussain, CPO, Uttam Singh, ACR Harbans Lal, CEO A H Fani besides PRIs were present on the occasion.
Over 20 delegations and several individuals apprised the DDC of their grievances and sought early intervention of the administration for ensuring redressal of the same.
A deputation led by former MLA, Banihal, Vikar Rasool Wani comprising Sarpanches, Panches and prominent citizens of Sumber, Pogal Paristan, Ukhral, Khari, Bajmasta, Senabati, Magdhar and Banihal called on DDC and raised several developmental issues of Banihal constituency.
Various issues being faced by local residents including compensation and restoration of water resources affected due to construction of Railway tunnel at Sumber, construction of Gujralla road, construction of bus stand at Ukhral, sanction of transformers for Sumber and other areas, renovation of school buildings, land compensation etc. were highlighted during the camp besides issues of water and power supply, road compensation, shortage of staff in schools and medical centres were also projected.
The DDC redressed number of issues on the spot and directed the concerned officers to resolve the remaining issues at the earliest.
DDC directed the XEN PHE to conduct a survey of Sumber area along with officers of Railway regarding assessment of damages and preparation of DPRs for restoration of water supply schemes damaged due to construction of railway tunnels in different’ areas.
