To take stock of ground situation in far-off areas and redress the grievances of people at their doorsteps, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana held a public grievance redress camp here at Sarthal. He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Dr. Amir Hussain, PM, IWMP, Kishore Singh, Functional Manager DIC Dr Mohsin Ahnager, ALC Anoop Kumar XEN PWD, XEN PHE, XEN PDD, CAHO Kishtwar, Dy. SP Hq, Tehsildar, Dy. CEO, BDO Trigam, Drabshalla, besides other concerned officers. Sarpanchs, Panchs, prominent persons and scores of people, including women hailing from Trigam and Drabshalla Blocks attended the Camp. The public of the area apprised the DDC about several grievances/ problems faced by them and urged immediate action. The demands included repair and renovation of gravity line in Ghan area, gearing up blacktopping of Sarthal Devi Ji Road, SRTC Bus Service from Sarthal to Jammu via Kishtwar, adequate teaching staff/PETs in HSS Sarthal, promotion of horticulture and cash crops by acquitting the farmers about modern techniques, clearance of pending MGNREGA payments of 2016-17, 2017-18, development of Saffron, apiculture sector in the area, shifting of BDO office Hasti to any centrally located place, sewage treatment plant at Sarthal, provision of ambulance at PHC Agral Sarthal, etc. The DDC gave on spot directions to concerned officers for early redress of the public issues. XEN PHE was asked to ensure repair and renovation of pipes, main gravity line and restoration of water supply to the area on priority. Taking serious note of the complaint about damages caused to public/private properties while execution of different work by departments, the DDC asked the locals to file a written complaint in concerned Police Post about it. The Police Department was directed to lodge an FIR against the department responsible for causing damages to property. Chief Horticulture Officer was directed to conduct awareness camp at Higher Secondary School Sarthal to impart training to students, farmers and fruit growers in grafting, mushroom cultivation and other related activities. The concerned BDO and revenue officers were asked to identify state land in the area for development of Sewage Treatment Plant or proper disposal of faecal waste. The DDC directed to complete the work on upcoming Girls hostel by August 1, 2019 for benefiting the female students of the area. The CEO KDA was directed to explore the possibility for development of parking place at Agral and Sarthal Devi Ji Shrine. He asked the Sarpanchs to check the attendance and functioning of government offices and warned the officers/officials to remain punctual at their respective place of posting. The CEO KDA was asked to formulate a plan to tap the huge tourism potential of the area. He called upon the general public especially youth to come forward and learn scientific methods in cattle rearing, agriculture, horticulture, dairy farming, apiculture and poultry farming to uplift their socio-economic condition.
