DDC Rajouri reviews developmental work; Sets deadlines for completion of projects

District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan, on Saturday convened a meeting of the concerned officers to take a comprehensive review of the physical and financial achievements by various departments and to review the functioning of various departments.

While reviewing the working of the Forest Department, the DFO informed the meeting that currently there are two schemes being implemented by the department in the district including fencing and plantation. It was given out that the work on fencing is going on and work on the plantation will start by the end of February.
To prohibit the smuggling of the minor forest products, the concerned officer said that a check post needs to be installed at Kandi.
The DDC directed the concerned officer to prepare a DPR for plantation of the medicinal plants within twenty days and also asked him to carry out an afforestation drive in the district to enhance green cover in the district. He also directed the concerned officer to initiate stern action against those found involved in illegal encroachment of the forest land as per the Forest Rights Act.
About the ICDS Department, the PO ICDS informed that the Anganwadi centres are not functional in the district due to COVID19 pandemic and dry ration is being distributed among the beneficiaries. He also briefed the chair about the progress achieved under PMMVY and other important schemes being implemented by the Department in the district. DDC directed the PO ICDS to make the Anganwadi Centres functional within a week’s time and also asked to devise a mechanism to ensure that the salary of the Anganwadi workers and the helpers is drawn only after a satisfactory report is received from the PRI members about their performance.
Regarding the PWD Rajouri division, the concerned Executive Engineer informed that under the District Plan, there are 20 schemes which include roads only out of which the work on 18 is at different phases of execution. He further informed that 9 projects have been taken up under State Plan.
While reviewing the status of blacktopping work, it was informed that against a target of blacktopping 61 Km road length, work on 57 km has been completed.
The meeting was informed that six projects are being executed under CRF, of which the work on 05 is at different phases of execution. Under NABARD and TSP, 18 schemes and 05 schemes are under execution, respectively, which include mostly roads and the work on all the projects is under different phases of the execution, the concerned officer said .
The DDC asked the concerned officer to ensure that the work on the projects is completed within already set deadlines and maintain the quality of the material used for the construction purpose. He also directed him to start the work on all the internal roads of the town by 20th of February this year. He asked the concerned officer to identify at least ten works on which double shifts can be done to ensure the time bound completion of the work on such projects.
While reviewing the progress of the PWD sector in Nowshera division, the concerned officer informed that there are 13 and 32 schemes under District and Capex plan, respectively.
He also gave a detailed resume on the physical and financial status of all these schemes.

Reviewing the working of Jal Shakti Department in Rajouri and Nowshera divisions, the DDC asked the concerned Executive Engineers to mobilize men and machinery to complete the work on the schemes strictly as per the set timelines to provide clean drinking water supply to the masses.

The DDC also reviewed the progress under Rural Development Department schemes being implemented in the district and directed for completing the work on all the PMAY houses in the district by the end of March this year.

While reviewing the progress on the Agriculture Sector, the CAO briefed the chair about various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the district including ATMA, NMSA,MIDH et. He also informed that a number of awareness camps for the farmers are being organised in the district in which the farmers are made aware of modern agricultural technologies for boosting the crop production.

Regarding the Health Department, the CMO briefed the meeting about the functioning of the Department and the kind of health facilities being made available for the public.

The DDC also reviewed the progress of the COVID19 vaccination being carried out in the district. The concerned officer informed that second phase of the vaccination drive has been started in the district to inoculate the field functionaries of different Departments including Police, Revenue, Municipality and others.

Similarly, the progress regarding the other services being provided by the Health Department like institutional deliveries, NHM, Ayushman Bharat, PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra etc was a;los reviewed.

The Chief Education Officer(CEO) gave details about the Education sector and said that 31 works under the State Capex Budget,46 works under District Capex and 01 work under BADP has been taken up in the district.

Similarly, the DDC also took a detailed review of the other Departments like Labour, MSK, JPDCL, DUDA, Motor Vehicle Department, Drugs and Control Department, Horticulture, FCS&CA, Social Forestry, JKPCC, I&FC, Soil Conservation, WildLife, DIC and others.
