DDC reviews functioning of Social Welfare Department in District Reasi

District Development Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik convened a meeting here today to review the functioning of the Social Welfare Department in the district. The meeting focussed on evaluating the implementation of social security, women and child centric schemes.
District Social Welfare Officer Sachin Sharma provided a detailed presentation on the schemes and initiatives in the district.
It was informed that 15,246 beneficiaries across the district are currently receiving Old Age Pension under Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS), while an additional 5317 beneficiaries are enrolled in the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP).
The DDC emphasized the importance of close coordination among other departments to ensure the smooth functioning of the schemes. She emphasised timely disposal of applications of Marriage Assistance Scheme that provides one-time financial assistance to PHH/AAY girls of marriageable age.
The DDC also reviewed the functioning of Mission Shakti and Mission Vatsalya schemes and instructed the officials of SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women, Reasi to create a database of all Women centric schemes of Other Departments that will be useful to sensitize such beneficiaries approaching SANKALP Hub for support.Chief Planning Officer, Narinder Kumar, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Mahore and other officials were present.
