JAMMU, January 04: A delegation from Udhampur district today called on Apni Party Provincial President Women Wing Namrta Sharma.
The delegation consisted of ex-Sarpanch Rajinder Singh Kaka, Yashpal, Akshay Tharmat, Abhay Singh, Jatin Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Kumar and Sahil Sharma who met Namrta Sharma at Apni Party office in Gandhi Nagar.
During interaction, the delegation appraised Namrta that there were no developmental activities in Tikkri area of Udhampur District. They claimed that the road connectivity, electricity and clean drinking waters continued to remain unresolved issues and the local leaders did not give any heed to their issues.
“A road is being constructed from Patti Pangra Mali to Jassalkote under PMGSY by ignoring villages like Sundrani, Matal, Dhanoo, and Tikkri. The Govt should have linked the road with above said villages to benefit the large number of villagers who have been rendered helpless without any type of connectivity,” the delegation appraised Namrta during their meeting with the Women Wing Provincial President of Jammu.
If these villages are linked with the above said PMGSY road, the delegation said that the distance can be reduced to 15 km from 50 km.
“The people have to cover a long distance despite the possibility of road connectivity. The ignorance of these neglected villages has deprived the poor people from the basic facilities,” said Namrta after listening to their grievances.
She said that it was unfortunate that even after more than seven decades of Independence; the villagers have been put to face hardships. She appealed to the Govt to make amendments in the road and link all the left out above said areas for the facilities of the population.
“The administration should not work on directions of a political party. We must restore faith of the people in the administration by doing their work without putting them in hardships,” she added.
On this occasion, Pavneet Kour, Gourav Kapoor, Janmeet Singh Bali, and other leaders of the Apni Party were also present.
