A dental checkup and awareness camp was today organized at Kend riya Vidyalaya, Jourian, Akhnoor.
A team of experts, under the supervision of Dr.Anil Sharma (B.M.O), comprising Dr.Rajiv Mengi, consultant CHC Jourian and ex-president Indian Dental Association (IDA), Dr.Meenakshi Bral, dental surgeon and Ajay Kumar, dental technician, were present during the checkup camp.
Dr.Mengi in his interaction with the students told them the methods to maintain oral hygiene and advised brushing twice daily.
He also demonstrated proper brushing technique to the students.
Dr.Gautam Sharma, President elect IDA, said that conducting health camps in the rural areas will benefit the people who are devoid of basic health facilities and will help raising the health status of rural population.
Manoj Kumar Sharma, Principal KV Jourian, appreciated the efforts of Dr.Mengi and his team for oral health awareness camp and distribution of free oral hygiene maintenance kit amongst students. Rajesh Kumar (P.E.T), Ashwani Kumar (T.G.T.) and Deep Suman (music teacher) were also present during the occasion. Sumit Gandotra from Colgate India provided free samples of oral hygiene kits.
