District Election Officer, Sushma Chauhan, today flagged off Mobile exhibition van to create awareness among the voters about the importance and need of voting in the district.
Deputy District Election Officer, Rajeev Magotra, District Panchayat Officer Piyush Dhotra, Block Development Officer, Amit Bhagat besides ALMT, security personals and election officials were present on the occasion.
The DEO informed that the mobile van carrying EVM and VVPAT machines shall educate the general public at each polling station, panchayat ghar, village level, block level, areas with maximum footfall about functioning of the machines. “The two mobile vans shall travel in the district covering both assembly constituencies of Samba and Vijaypur respectively from today till 10th March with basic purpose of maximum awareness to general public” she added
Meanwhile, an awareness camp was held at block Ghagwal under SVEEP to sensitize the local population about the functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) along with Voters Verified Paper Audit Trial (VVPT).
Under the programme, voters of Ghagwal block were made aware about the functioning of the voting machine and process of verifying their valuable vote through VVPAT.
Assistant Commissioner (Development), MuddasirLatifiTasir, Block Development officer Ghagwal Anshuman Mali besides ALMTs and other officials were also present on the occasion.
