District Election Officer (DEO) Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav chaired a meeting today to discuss the smooth conduct of the forthcoming 2nd Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls-2024 for Constituent Assemblies.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kishtwar/ERO 49- Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal, Deputy District Election Officer/ERO 48-Inderwal Idrees Ahmed Lone, SDM Paddar/ ERO 50-Nagseni Paddar, Amit Kumar ,AEROs/ Tehsildars, Election NT Angrez Singh Jasrotia, officers from the Election Cell Kishtwar, and other relevant personnel.
The primary focus of the meeting was to finalize arrangements and modalities for the summary revision of Photo Electoral Rolls of Legislative Assemblies, scheduled from 25-07-2024 (Thursday) to 09-08-2024 (Friday), encompassing all three Legislative Assemblies Viz 48-Inderwal, 49-Kishtwar and 59-Nagseni Paddar of district Kishtwar.
The qualifying date for new voters attaining age of 18 years is 1st July 2024 and disposal of claims and objections is set for 19-08-2024 (Monday), with the final publication of Electoral Rolls on 20-08-2024 (Tuesday).
Dr. Devansh Yadav urged all applicants intending to file claims or objections to do so before the ERO/AERO, either manually or electronically through the website http://ceojk.nic.in/efilling.
DEO urged the concerned EROs to form teams responsible for completing the summary revision, which includes the addition of new voters, addressing omissions, and eliminating duplicate entries, all before the assigned deadline.
He emphasized the need for efficiency and timeliness, urging the officers to mobilize resources and personnel effectively to ensure the final publication of the Electoral Roll.
Dr. Yadav also encouraged all officers and officials involved in the Summary Revision to approach the task with dedication and enthusiasm, aiming for 100 percent enrollment of eligible voters in the Electoral Roll.
The DEO stressed the importance of rationalizing polling stations as per the guidelines of ECI, conducting house-to-house verification through BLOs, and addressing other critical issues like distribution of EPIC Cards etc. as per the guidelines issued.
The DEO emphasized to the Deputy DEO the significance of raising awareness under SVEEP campaign among eligible new voters to ensure no deserving individual is inadvertently left out of the process.
