A delegation of Journalists and Photo Journalists on Monday met Farooq Khan, Advisor to Governor in Jammu today and submitted a memorandum to apprise him about the problems faced by the scribes in J&K. They urged the Advisor to restart medi-claim policy for scribes besides, insurance like wise other others state of the country.
They also apprised the Advisor that neighbouring states are provided free travel concession in state road transport corporation buses to accredited scribe.
They also sought attention of the advisor states like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal and Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have exempted accredited journalists from paying toll plaza and same concession sould also be given to J&K journalists.
The Advisor gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured them early redressal of their grievances.
Those who accompanied the deputation included Vishal Sharma (Photo Journalists), Surjeet Singh (Photo Journalists), Imran (Photo Journalists) and Raman Raina ((Photo Journalists), Afzal Shah (Photo Journalists) , Sudhir Kumar and Tilak Mehra Journalists and others Working Journalists of Jammu.
