Emphasizing that the premier role of Congress in any political set-up cannot be wished away, JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla Sunday said the recent Parliament elections have sent out this message, very loud and clear.“Whenever any credible authentic democratic process will be held, the results will stamp the people’s choice for Congress”, Bhalla said while addressing a public meeting at Kali Badi in Samba District today. Former Minister and senior Vice President JKPCC Yashpal Kundal and Samba District President Sanjeev Sharma were also present on the occasion. Also present on occasion include Sarpanchs Darshan Singh, Somnath, Pritam, Darshan (Plowa), Dr. Mintu, Bansi Lal, Bandan, Tyaan Singh , Mani Ram, Dinesh Singh, Charan Dass, Kameer Singh Naib Sarpanch Sarban Singh, (Guru Ravidass Sabha President), Panch Ram Lal, , Panch Thali.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla lauded the political sagacity of the people in lending their wholehearted support to Congress in the just concluded elections, which is amply reflected by the striking rate in Jammu division. He said a clear message has gone out that the next government in Jammu and Kashmir will be formed by Congress. This has unnerved all those who had written off the party because of their little political understanding and lack of connect with the people, he added. He said the elections have also exposed the BJP’s fragility with its lowest winning margin. Such is the credibility deficit in the party that its leaders sought votes in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their individual performances have been dismal. They failed on all fronts in deliverance during the past ten years. The development and employment generation received a huge dent. The BJP also left the daily rated workers in lurch and promises about packages proved hoax, he said.
Bhalla described the recent vote to Congress as support to its politics of inclusiveness.
The people have vehemently rejected the politics of divide, which they feel is detrimental to harmonious growth of a healthy society. He said the best part of democracy is people reposing trust and giving mandate to political parties with the hope of their welfare and development and at the same time punishing them too if they fail to deliver. “The Congress believes in service to the people, irrespective of caste, creed or religion, as they were the real fountainhead of the power.
Unmindful of achieving the power, the party cadre has all along dedicated itself to the overall public good in all the regions and sub-regions of Jammu and Kashmir and it will continue to do so in future as well with renewed vigour and commitment”, the Working President added.
Bhalla today launched a scathing attack on BJP dispensation for pushing Jammu and Kashmir to wall by creating a situation of drift, showing insensitivity towards people’s aspirations and forcing aggressive nationalism, as a result of which the State is in total chaos. He ridiculed BJP dispensation for showing high degree of intolerance to dissent and aversion to peaceful protests, saying this amounts to gauging democratic voice in Jammu and Kashmir. He described the present Government as anti-employees, saying the insensitive dispensation has failed in satiating their urges and aspirations. Bhalla said that failure in meeting the aspirations of people and restoring normalcy in J&K has frustrated the Government to such an extent that it was now resorting to most inhuman tactics to establish its authority. The so-called moral grandstanding has fallen into bits and pieces and the real face of the BJP is haunting those who supported them during elections. He said the people were realizing the folly of reposing their faith in the parties which are not only self-centric but anti-people as well, Bhalla added.
Bhalla said misgovernaance of the past ten-years has pushed Jammu and Kashmir decades back in respect of development and welfare of the people. Due to wrong policies of govt, the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are completely feeling alienated. He said despite making a promise to address the political issues confronted to J&K in their tall claims, no forward movement has been made so far. “As a result, human sufferings have touched lowest depths in J&K”, he added. He urged the people to maintain vigil against frustrated political outfits, who in a rage of frustration on account of failure of the Government, may try to create wedge between various segments of society in order to divert attention from current crisis. “We have to foil all these attempts collectively by ensuring amity and tranquility”, he maintained. Bhalla said that a polarization atmosphere was created in the recently concluded elections and divisive politics was played but Congress has outplayed with the support of the general public since it’s only Congress that can connect all the regions and religions across J&K.
