The way the opposition parties are going against the Election Commission (EC) and the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), it would suggest that they take the exit polls results more seriously than the NDA led by the BJP.
Aside from the commonsense logic, the EVM bashing has been going on for long. Rahul Gandhi’s backers say that he did point that he had reservations with the EVMs even when the Congress won in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan December last.
The workers of DOGRA FRONT & SHIV SENA under the leadership of President Mr ASHOK GUPTA took out a protest in Jammu city against reckless and obnoxious behavior & claims of opposition for blaming the EVMS, Election commission upon the mere show of Exit Polls. Also, the allegations are a little muddled.
At one level, the charge is the EVMs have been hacked through a pre-set programme that allows votes to be cast to only one candidate (the vote goes only to the BJP in this case). At another, there is also the allegation that the EVMs used in the polls are being replaced with pre-loaded new ones.
Well, again the EC has clearly clarified that the existing EVMs are under watch round the clock and all candidates can have their own people to stand vigil (and they do in many places). The EVMs also carry specific numbers that the candidates can cross-verify.
Mr ASHOK GUPTA stated that the EVMs were supposedly fine when its leaders Mamata Banerjee, Amarinder Singh and Arvind Kejriwal had won elections and came to power but are now seeking to blame the machines when it looks like a return of the Modi government.
“They are creating unnecessary storm about the EVMs which is nothing but their disappointment. They are seeking a reason to justify their defeat, When they won elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, they didn’t raise a single question on the EVM, but now they know that they are going to lose the elections and that is why are blaming it.
He added that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati, Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh had similarly not raised their voices against the EVMs when they won elections but were now turning into unnecessary critics.
“Nothing can be termed as a more baseless and classless allegation than these allegations on EVM and the stand of the political parties on it, SHIV SENA, DOGRA FRONT condemns this highly strategized action by the opposition parties to play this blame game.
The party people who were present at the time of protest were Bantu, Fauji Daya Ram, Ram Krishan, Sham, Dinesh, Ajay, Kalu, Sanjeev, Ritesh, Abhishek and various others were present.
