JAMMU, Sept 13:
A native of district Doda, the Director General of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) allegedly influenced the election process of the newly established District Cricket Association of the J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) wherein all the five candidates got elected unopposed.
The DG DYSS, who has roots in the district, thus established interest to take over the district unit of the JKCA by getting voting rights for the clubs from the family. With younger son of the DG DYSS has represented J&K in the under-23 format, the senior one, Mussa Saleem has been made president of the Doda District Cricket Association.Interestingly, the newly elected district president, Mussa Saleem works in Mumbai where he stays most of the time.
To grab the district body through his influence of being head of the sports department, the DG DYSS has also got two cricket clubs (Royal Cricket Club Bhaderwah and Shining Star Doda) registered in the recent past so as to support the agenda of present management of CEO and Administrators in the JKCA in a big way.ince the whole team of District Doda Cricket Association elected unopposed, son of DG DYSS, Mussa Saleem has been made president, his close relation from Bhaderwah (Royal Cricket Club Bhaderwah) is general secretary. For other three posts Vinay Kumar, Abdul Wahid and Aamir Karim Wani have been elected as vice president, treasurer and joint secretary respectively. However, there was widespread resentment with the top cricket clubs of the district for denying them the voting rights and inclusion of little known as voters. It has been reliably learnt that as many as five prominent clubs were not allowed to vote.
They are City Boys Bhaderwah, Bhaderwah Cricket Academy, Rising Star Pranoo Shahpura, Young Star Bhaderwah and United Cricket Club Bhaderwah. On other hand, four clubs accommodated despite being ineligible for voting. These four clubs are Royal Cricket Club Bhaderwah, Shining Star Doda, Green Shining Doda and Royal Challenger Cricket Club Phagsoo Thatri. Important to mention here that participation in two district level competitions held in 2018 and 2019 have been made basis for the voting rights at the district cricket associations by the JKCA.
