Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor are all set to spread their charm across the audience with their upcoming film ‘Dhadak’. While the movie will be Ishaan’s second Bollywood outing after the critically-acclaimed ‘Beyond the Clouds’, it will mark Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in the Hindi film industry.
The movie has created immense buzz ever since its inception and the cute pairing of the newbies in Bollywood has increased the curiosity level amongst fans all the more. Earlier reports stated that ‘Dhadak’ is an official remake of the Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairat’, but recently while speaking to a daily Ishaan revealed the difference between the two films.
Ishaan revealed that ‘Dhadak’ is an adaptation, rather than a remake. He averred that ‘Dhadak’ director Shashank Khaitan understood that it’s such an important film for our country and is easily adaptable into the different cultural milieu that it was important to make this film reach out to more audiences.
Produced by Karan Johar, the movie will release on July 20th.
Ishaan Khatter who proved his acting prowess since his debut ‘Beyond the Clouds’ itself will be soon seen in Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Dhadak’ opposite debutante Janhvi Kapoor. Several reports stated that ‘Dhadak’ is an official remake of the blockbuster Marathi film ‘Sairat’, but Ishaan seems to not agree with this.
While interacting with a media portal, Ishaan revealed that ‘Dhadak’ is an adaptation, rather than a remake. He went on to add that he’s aware of the fact that adaptations haven’t really worked at the box office in the recent times. He said that it all ultimately depends on one’s intention behind directing a film. He averred that ‘Dhadak’ director Shashank Khaitan understood that it’s such an important film for our country and is easily adaptable into the different cultural milieu that it was important to make this film reach out to more audiences and he wanted to do it his way.
Ishaan revealed that in order to understand the character and the feel of the movie, he even watched ‘Sairat’ and absolutely loved it. He also professed that he understands the responsibility that comes along with this movie, but he prefers not to think about it while working as it affects his performance.
Produced by Karan Johar, the movie will release on July 20th.

While “Dhadak”, which is the Hindi remake of Marathi film “Sairat”, will mark Janhvi’s foray into Bollywood, Ishaan is making his acting debut with Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s India-set movie “Beyond The Clouds”.
“Dhadak” is an adaptation of Marathi movie “Sairat”, which was critically acclaimed for its content and performances by newcomers Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar.
