JAMMU, JAN 14:
Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, Dheeraj Gupta, convened a meeting to discuss developments regarding PM SVANidhi Scheme here today.
During the meeting, Principal Secretary issued strict directions for swift uploading of offline applications into online mode as well as for overall ramping up of registrations. He maintained that only the number of online registrations would be considered for practical statistics.
Pertinently, Prime Minister’s Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi, PM SVANidhi, scheme has been launched to empower street vendors by extending loans to them and for their holistic development and economic upliftment.
The government functionaries were told that for the bankers to further process applications, it is imperative that scrutiny and online uploading of data is completed at the earliest. Similarly, bankers were also directed to not allow any more offline applications. Dheeraj Gupta asked for expediting registration and issuing Letters of Recommendation. He directed the concerned that all pending sanctions and registrations be completed by next week besides asking them to ramp up the process of loan disbursement. He also asked the banks to conduct special drives to finish the process in time.
Thorough discussion was also held regarding the Mai Bhi Digital campaign during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Avny Lavasa; Director, Urban Local Bodies Jammu, Asgar Hussain; Additional Secretary HUDD, RS Sharma and senior bankers from Jammu region.
Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Gazanfar Ali, Director, Urban Local Bodies Kashmir and senior bankers from Kashmir division participated through virtual mode.
PM SVANidhi intends to facilitate collateral free working capital loans of up to Rs 10 thousand of one-year tenure, to approximately 50 lakh street vendors, to help resume their businesses in the urban areas, including surrounding peri-urban/rural areas.
