In the first four months of the year, Dia Mirza featured in Nadaaniyan and witnessed her acclaimed series Kaafir being re-released as a film. However, what truly excites her about 2025 is her return to film production. Having made her debut as a producer with Love Breakups Zindagi in 2011 and backing two more projects since, Dia is now set to produce again after a six-year gap.“The writing [on my next] has been in full swing. Hopefully, we’ll begin the project soon. I’m looking for diversity and stories that represent powerful, incredible women in unique ways. If nobody is making them, I will,” she says with a smile.Dia Mirza’s recent film choices not only showcase her professional values but also mirror her personal activism and beliefs. Reflecting on this, she shared, “It comes from the understanding that being an artiste is about driving change. I’m perhaps a better actress today as many of my life experiences taught me to empathise more deeply with my characters.”
