With an effort to promote afforestation in the Industrial Estate Battal Balhian, District Industries Centre today launched a massive plantation drive in the area.
General Manager DIC Udhampur, Suram Chand Sharma launched the plantation drive by planting a sapling in the premises of Safex Chemicals in the Industrial Estate Battal Ballian.
Among others, President Industrial Association Battal Ballian Udhampur with other members of Industrial Association Udhampur, Sarpanches, Panches, Project Managers and Functional Manager of DIC besides prominent citizens participated in the plantation drive.
Speaking on the occasion, the GM appealed the unit holders to participate in the drive in a big way to arrest the pollution in the industrial area. He exhorted for planting the fast growing species along both sides of the lanes best suited to the industrial area.
The leading industries who participated in the plantation drive included Insecticides India Ltd., Udhay Plasters, Safex Chemicals, ISRO and Agrico, Shri Ram Industries and others.
